Bartending Flair
The Bartending Doctor
has also had fun watching bartenders entertain their
customers with a variety of bartending
flair.
The term bartending flair
mostly relates to the art of bottle flipping and juggling
of all bar equipment including glassware and garnishes.
It can also mean any form of entertainment used by a
bartender at his or her bar during the slow periods,
including magic and card tricks. I have used them all
during my 35 plus years in the business and it has always
made me extra money.
As with any form of entertainment,
"'practice makes perfect." Always remember
not to sacrifice good service for the art of entertainment,
as doing so will then actually lose you money. For some
customers, it is preferred to simply serve them the
drink in a quick manner and with a good personality.
Flair is best served during the slow periods at your
bar.
I have put together for
you a couple of web sites that cover all of the above
forms of flair
bartending:
